Pyrography (Woodburned) Art Lessons
Youth / Adult Beginner Level Lessons
I have been teaching pyrography privately and as an instructor to members of the Saskatchewan Woodworkers Guild for 3 years.
I am fairly flexible when it comes to times for classes. Classes can be structured to run for an entire day, Saturday or
Sunday, or a weekday evening for 2 or 3 hours over the course of a couple or more weeks.
Here is an overview of what a full day class would look like:
- Class times: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Minimum of 3 students, maximum of 5 students per class (this allows lots of one-on-one instruction)
- Ages: 10 and up - younger students may be accepted with parental permission.
- Topics covered in class:
- Safety
- Overview of equipment and materials used in pyrography
- Pen techniques
- Creating and using patterns
- Line work and shading instruction
- Adding text elements
- Student project - students will start a simple project that they can take home by the end of the class
- Wood burners and pens will be provided (and are available for purchase) if you do not have them.
- All materials used for the class are provided by me.
- Local classes will be taught in my backyard shop in Warman, SK.
For the full day class, you would need to bring a lunch or a bit of cash to eat at the local restaurant (very good meals).
I will supply all the coffee you want.
Cost
Full day class: $60.00
Evening class: $20.00 per evening (come to as many or as few as you like)
If you do not live close by and would really like to take a class, I am willing to travel to your city or town and do a class there.
Please contact me for more information and details.
